Joe Hart - Obscura
Product description
It's 2028, and the world is plagued by a new disease. At first it causes mild memory lapses, then later outbursts of anger, and finally mental illness and death. The disease, named Losian's disease, has a rapid course and, according to short-term modeling, it will soon surpass Alzheimer's in prevalence.
Dr. Gillian Ryan, a neuroradiologist, is one of the main researchers of Losian's disease and the most outstanding figure in her field. In addition to her medical profession, the stakes are particularly high for her to unravel the root cause of the disease and find the antidote: she has already lost her husband, and her seven-year-old daughter has also developed symptoms, so she may have at most years to live. However, despite a lot of work and experiments, the breakthrough does not happen, and research support is withdrawn from it.
Not long after, however, he receives an unexpected request from NASA: Losian disease reared its head on one of their secret space stations. The diagnosis seems impossible at first, but the crew's symptoms rule out all other possibilities. The organization asks Ryan to take a special team into space and decipher the disease. In return, he is promised unlimited funding for his research.
However, the journey soon turns into a nightmare, the mission interrupted by inexplicable and violent events. Everything comes into question - the mission's true purpose, the crew's motives, and the deadly secrets of infinite space.
With this mix of captivating science fiction adventure and mind-numbing psychological thriller, Joe Hart lifts the veil not only on the endless secrets of outer space, but also on the even darker unknown hidden in the human soul.
