Product description
The official prequel to Dracula, inspired by the notes and texts left behind by the author of the classic novel.
It is 1868, and twenty-one-year-old Bram Stoker is waiting in a lonely tower to face an indescribable monster. Armed with crucifixes, holy water and a rifle, he prays to survive the longest night of his life. Desperate to put everything he witnessed on paper, he records the events that led up to this point...
Bram was ill a lot as a child, so he spent most of his time in bed at his parents' home in Dublin, cared for by a young woman called Nanny Ellen. When a string of strange deaths occur in a nearby town, Bram and his sister Matilda are caught off guard by nanny Ellen's strange habits. Then mysterious and creepy events follow, until finally Ellen unexpectedly disappears from their lives. Years later, Matilda goes to study in Paris, where she returns home with the news that she has seen Ellen, and the nightmare that Bram and I thought was long over is actually just beginning.
Dracul is a fictional story about Bram Stoker and his brothers who are on the trail of a dark creature. The hunt begins in Ireland, their childhood home, then the brothers travel around Europe, and finally the memorable, final meeting takes place. Working with real and fictional characters, Dracul sheds new light on the most terrifying and enduring story in world literature.
