Janikovszky Éva - Naplóm 1938-1944 - Bővített edition
Product description
This childhood and youth diary, which Éva Janikovszky kept between the ages of twelve and eighteen, is one of this year's literary sensations. The diary entries of the time unfold the story of a particularly sensitive girl who grew up during the years of the World War, during which she fell in love for the first time, and while making lifelong friendships, she faced the harshest measures of the emergency period, which also affected her family. The later writer - who was still called Éva Kucses at the time - tells stories about her classmates, friends, herself and, of course, her wider home, Szeged, in a great style, with the irony characteristic of her later. The cheerful childish voice is constantly getting serious, and the late entries - 1943 and 1944 - already show a young woman who stands out among her contemporaries with her maturity, intelligence, and education, and therefore seeks the friendship of those older than her. The volume's rich visual material is based on photos left in the legacy, as well as contemporary documents.
