Jacky Durand - Apám receptjei
Product description
The main setting of the novel is a restaurant in a small town in Burgundy, where traditional French dishes are cooked, to the delight of the host of guests. The protagonist is Monsieur Henri, the old-fashioned cook and owner of the Flower Station, and the narrator is his son Julien, who has been passionately tinkering in the kitchen for as long as he can remember.
When Mr. Henri falls into a coma, Julien sits by his bed and the memories flood him. His childhood heroes come to life, his father's life partner, the beautiful, kind Hélene, whose person is surrounded by a painful secret, Lulu, the comrade-in-arms second cook, Nicole, the fire-jumping waitress, Gabriel, the anarchist woodcutter... And Julien wonders: where has he gone? , do you still have the net of your desires somewhere, the father's recipe book?
My Father's Recipes is about love, the storyteller's boyish love and the author Jacky Durand's love for (French) cuisine.
In the appendix of the Hungarian edition, thanks to the translator Róbert Bognár, the reader can find information about the food and drinks on the tables of the Flower Station.
