Huszka József - Hungarian decorative styl

József Huszka laid the foundations of national ornamentation and decorative art in his book Hungarian decorative style, published in 1885, which he expanded and developed several times during his life, thereby proving the direction of Hungarian national decorative art. "The existence of several hundred years, which does not show any change in its main features, rightly allows us to conclude that our decorative manners are rooted in the individual characteristics of the Hungarian nation, and that the special national feature is the result of the racial and blood differences, which also in terms of language separates Hungarians from other European peoples." - writes the author. His work created a great response and his readers were waiting for the continuation, which was born in the pages of Magyar ornamentika.
