The number of people exempted from attending school for a year in the large group of kindergartens is increasing every year. There are more and more children at school who - despite their good intellectual abilities - struggle with learning difficulties and confusion, and cause serious problems for themselves and their environment due to integration and behavioral problems. If we look for the causes of the phenomenon, we tend to look for the reasons in the parents' changed educational methods, workload, or - which also affects the children - their social situation. However, the environment cannot necessarily be held responsible!
Relatively less often, we think about the fact that children's different development can also cause learning and adjustment problems. By describing healthy and different development and comparing the two, we can detect the signs of "derailments" and understand the interactions between the basic elements of learning and social behavior. Developmental deviations are often the result of the child not being successful in learning even with favorable educational and environmental conditions, despite his intellectual abilities, his social integration is difficult, and his behavioral reactions are often incomprehensible and blatant. The preventive goal is to improve the conditions of development, to support optimal nervous system maturation processes. Suspicious signs detected during development may necessitate a careful examination, accurate diagnosis and development and therapy(s). There is also plenty of room for improvement in the social environment, but this is no longer the competence of one or a few professions.
The book wants to help parents and educators objectively monitor the child's development, ask their questions, properly interpret the expert opinions received, and, if necessary, cooperate usefully with each other. To determine the diagnosis and what to do, contact a specialist with whom you can establish a trusting relationship based on careful information.
