HERTZ ML 1800.3 Mille Legend midwoofer 18 cm

The Hertz ML 1800.3 Mille Legend is an 18 cm mid-bass loudspeaker designed for installation in car doors. It was developed to push the power handling limits of door-mounted speakers further, with several prototypes tested using FEA simulation and Klippel measurements over an extended period of listening and quality testing.

The speaker uses a 50 mm mobile voice coil, which provides high power handling and strong thermal stability even with bass-heavy music. This size offers a good balance between power capacity and a wide frequency range. Paired with an ML.280.3 tweeter, which is not included in the package, it forms a complete two-way system.

The exponential V-Cone membrane, low-carbon CNC-machined plates for high magnetic permeability and low distortion, a cellulose membrane reinforced with cotton fibres, and a three-spoke acoustically transparent aluminium basket all work together for linearity and clean output. The surround made from high-grade IIR butyl rubber provides consistent thermal and mechanical performance.
