heroes mártírok áldozatok szentek

Since then, everyday heroes and martyrs have appeared even in this ordeal: doctors, nurses, security people and volunteers. Pandemic is about the fight for human life and survival: a postmodern world war. Once again, history has taught mankind, self-confidently trusting in itself, that no matter how much it proclaims, it is not the master of its own world. (Has it ever been?) Did societies, religious and spiritual movements, historical and religious memory culture or just situations create and create heroes, martyrs, saints and victims? Our book seeks the answer to this question since the dawn of humanity to the present day - with the participation of a circle of historians formed into a community by the Károli Gáspár Reformed University. Prominent personalities of the Hungarian liberal arts, culture of memory, and military traditions accepted our invitation from here and beyond the border to search for possible answers together.
