Harsányi Zsolt - Sacra Corona

Product description
Our holy crown was joined from two parts, but we still don't know exactly who and when. Over the centuries, the crown was pawned, stolen, lost and found, hidden in a tree hole, buried at least four times, and once taken out of its case with a knife. It was transported abroad eleven times, twice placed in a museum. The crown has survived everything and enjoys a unique respect in the world. We know of no other crown that would be called holy. The only person crowned with this crown by the archbishop of Esztergom could be a Hungarian king. And according to the doctrine of the Holy Crown, the actual ruler is the crown itself, the king becomes the first man of the country only through coronation (and church anointing), and the country's territory and free citizens are the body of the crown. The story of Zsolt Harsányi, the author of the famous Munkácsy biography, Ecce homo, the crowning story of the novel is being published in book form for the first time since its first publication in 1938. The uniquely exciting narrative unfolds the millennia-old history of the holy crown and other coronation insignia, the formation of the doctrine of the Holy Crown, and of course the sensitive description of the coronation ceremony that has been refined over the centuries. A must-read for anyone interested in history!
