Since 2010, we have not only been bystanders suffering from the dismantling of the rule of law, but opponents fighting for freedom with all the means at our disposal: defenders of the constitutional state. We have experienced that although it is always easier to destroy than to build, the defense, the seemingly hopeless rearguard action, is not completely ineffective or without benefits. Documenting the destruction - and this is the most obvious textual layer of this book - is in itself an indictment of the destruction of freedom. Sometimes even the Constitutional Court, which (increasingly rarely) gives signs of life, much more often the international judicial forums, sometimes the organs of the European Union or the Council of Europe, and other times, and this is perhaps the most important, the domestic public opinion restrains the legal system of the National Cooperation System, which is increasingly moving away from the constitutionality his chariot racing down the slope. These are the important stage victories against hopelessness, which help to ensure that the sometimes barely flickering torch of the protection of the constitution does not die out for good.

We must reverse the process of disintegration. The new republic must reweave the decaying fabric of society. We can have a slogan for this: Let's be a republic! Freedom, equal dignity! The source is the Enlightenment, but when planning, we must take into account the changed world and, within that, our own changed world as well. After the bad historical experiments that turned the lofty demand for equality into tyranny, it is now right to demand respect for equal dignity, which can be achieved in the market economy, and if not as brothers, then as members of the citizen community, as individuals bearing common dignity
