Garth Nix - Angyalmágus

More than a century had passed since Liliath climbed into Saint Marguerite's empty sarcophagus at the time of Ystara's destruction. Waking from her magical sleep, still beautiful and young, she sets out again on her quest to unite with her love, Palleniel, the archangel of Ystara.
Although this task seems impossible, Liliath is the most powerful angel mage to ever live, capable of summoning angels to her and forcing them to do her will. He is most interested in four young people: Simeon, the diligent medical candidate, Henri, the determined fortune hunter, Agnez, the musketeer who wants glory, and Dorotea, who is an icon painter and a scholar of angelic magic.
From the moment they meet, the four of them feel some kind of strange connection to each other, but they have no idea of their importance. None of them are aware of how Liliath intends to use them, simply as tools in her plan, disregarding everyone else's interests.
