This organic matcha green tea powder is made from the tender leaves at the very top of the bushes, harvested in the first spring flush. It has a vivid jade-green colour and is graded as ceremonial grade, making it suitable for traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. The matcha is grown organically and sourced from a Japanese family business that has been operating since 1888.

The tea is grown by small producers in Kagoshima Prefecture and processed using traditional artisanal methods. According to the producer, the powder is a rich natural source of the amino acid L-theanine and EGCG polyphenols, and its ORAC value is 25 times higher than that of chia seeds and eight times higher than that of goji berries.

It can be prepared as frothy usucha (thin tea), as thick koicha, as a matcha latte, or blended into a smoothie. The product contains only organic matcha green tea powder.
