"No one, really no one, would pick up this book if I didn't happen to be a member of that certain band," says Christian Lorenz, i.e. Flake, Rammstein's keyboardist, about his first book, which is both a contemporary document about everyday life and the musical underground of the GDR, and a youthful reminiscence. and history of bands. In Germany, the work was on Der Spiegel's bestseller list for nearly five months, and its first edition sold out in two weeks.

The original title of the book, Der Tastenficker (literally translated keyboard ficker), was a mocking name for musicians who "hosted" with a string of synthesizers in the late GDR. The approximate Hungarian equivalent of this is electric gypsy, which can denote both the instrument and the person playing it. (Thanks to Andor Nagy, employee of Shockmagazin.hu, for the title idea!)
