The traditional areas of interstate relations are regulated by bilateral treaties. Analyzing their formation, content and application facilitates a better understanding of conditions that can rarely be called simple. In our case, we are exploring how the minority aspects of the Hungarian-Ukrainian Basic Treaty qualify as a source of law and an obligation, and what the intergovernmental minority joint committee tasked with monitoring their compliance was able to do with this.
