Fábián Janka - Virágszál (2022)

Money and love, competition and hatred, political conspiracy and murder.
New Year's Eve 1902. The bell rings in the monastery of the Order of Mercy. When Sister Kornélia, the old nun, opens the door, she finds a little boy on the doorstep...

Flóra Urbán, the spoiled, headstrong daughter of a rich Buda lawyer, falls in love with the ambitious, handsome shop assistant who cherishes poetic dreams. She knows that her father would not agree to the marriage, so she resorts to sexless means. However, his plan doesn't work, in fact: it starts a series of tragedies. A few years after the incident, Flóra tries to organize her life and gets married. However, the past seems to repeat itself: Flóra's adopted son announces that he is getting married, and his chosen one is a nurse. Flóra, who once would have done everything for a simple shop assistant, now does everything to prevent a low-ranking marriage...

Fábián Janka masterfully weaves the threads of a romantic story set at the dawn of the 20th century, full of passion, overheated emotions, and surprising twists.
