Product description
My body is the exact opposite of a temple. I tried, well, I try to make my head my temple. The body should be more of an amusement park.
The liberated and conscious Blanca's church collapses and her amusement park falls apart when she loses her mother at the age of forty. The mother from whom he learned to love life and play; that you can only fall in love at first sight. The art of grand gestures reserved for the right moment. The lack of guilt and the freedom and responsibility that this means. That she gives herself to countless men while preserving herself.
Before he gets completely lost in the space around him, he decides to travel to the seaside town of Cadaqués, to his mother's vacation home. She takes her two sons, two ex-boyfriends and her best friends with her; moreover, his married lover spends a few days there with his family.
Milena Busquets' first, partially autobiographical novel is an astonishingly honest, yet light and fresh text about pain and love, fear and desire, sadness and laughter, inconsolability and closeness; about the importance and insignificance of the people around us.
As far as I know, the only thing that doesn't make you hangover, but temporarily dispels the aura of death around you and, for that matter, your life, is sex.
Milena Busquets was born in 1972 in Barcelona. He graduated in archeology at University College London, and then worked for several years at the major Lumen book publisher, which his family founded in the sixties. Later, he founded a book publishing house himself, and currently works in journalism and translation in addition to writing.
His first novel Ez also ommulíl, which became a success with stormy speed, its translation rights have so far been sold in more than thirty countries.
