Dr. Sebestyén Gyula - Regösök - Hungarian népköltési collection V.

In several Hungarian villages in six Transdanubia counties and one Transdanubia county, on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, carolers called regösés visit the houses instead of nativity scenes. We have so far observed this folk custom in 179 villages in the areas of the mentioned counties, and the results of as accurate records as possible and phonograph collections of the present company Regös-énekek IV. Since we can accurately identify the regös of the people from the mass of accumulated additions, after the completion of the collections and the publication of the collection, I now undertake to research the history of the regös that can be traced back to pagan times, to explore the extraordinary scope of the unknown world of the comparative and historical ethnography of the regölés, and if the the new knowledge thus made available allows me to present the origin and development of the regulation.
