Our volume is a selection of György Faludy's hitherto unprocessed correspondence: most of the letters collected from manuscript archives and private property are Faludy's writings, but we also present those written to him. The poet's literary and friendship system emerges from the writings.
The scope and subject matter of Faludy's letters are extremely diverse, but they have one thing in common: their writer's penchant for telling stories and anecdotes. Stories and complaints abound about family members, contemporary writers, emigrants and politicians. In addition to personal life events and biographical adventures, of course, literature is also given space: reports on new works or readings are another recurring theme of the writings. All this is colored by travelogues and brainstorming, for example about the meaning of life and the destruction of our civilization.
