Cserna-Szabó András - Az abbé a fejével játszik

András Cserna-Szabó's latest novel begins with the Creation, and after the birth of the world, we race (or just skim, or jump, or flow) through ages and locations. Panta rhei, meaning "everything flows", claimed Heraclitus (and two thousand five hundred years later the plumber János Vacsora), and indeed, the chapters in this book almost flow into each other. In the simultaneously wide-ranging and at the same time tightly interwoven story stream with a carnival atmosphere, the title character Ignác Martinovics, Gavrilo Princip and Byzantine Emperor Zenon, Kosztolányi and Édes Anna, Lenin and Szamuely, Dávid Copperfield and Géza Ottlik, Derrick and Poirot, Gogol and Hašek, II. Lipót and Károly I - also dwarves, flame roasters, satyrs, revolutionaries, peasants, fishermen, whores, actors, antiquarians, buggers, policemen, tram conductors, terrorists, circus performers, room painters, gamblers, rabbits, fortune tellers, tavern keepers, curuzsolos, postmen, jazz musicians and many others... If a book begins with the Creation, it cannot end in any other way than the Apocalypse - and it is no different now, no one should have any doubts: the four horsemen will come in the end! But until we get there (via stops such as Constantinople, Balatonfőkajár, Petrograd, Buda, Abbotsbury, Prague, Márianosztra, Stockholm, Timisoara, Blunderstone, Dunaújváros, Munich, Szentes, Zurich, Pest, Bolsije Szorocinci, Cegléd, Lidköping, Sarajevo, Pornószentgyörgy and Panama ) until the end of the world, we will learn what makes existence terrifying, desperate and ridiculous at the same time. But don't be afraid: the author guarantees a happy ending!
