Cooking tip: The mature leaves are steamed or stewed, or the new sprouts are used raw in salads.

- In the beginning, it may appear to grow slowly, no thinning is necessary. Once germinated, growth will soon accelerate.
- Please note that red kale is heat sensitive and grows best at temperatures between 18 and 22 °C. If the temperature is higher than 75°F (24°C), germination is inhibited.
- Red kale grows best when the lamp has only one arm! If the light is set too low, it can burn your blooming plants. If the light is set too high, the plants will be leggy and produce less fruit.
- You can start harvesting red kale in five to six weeks. To do this, remove the larger outer leaves from which the plant will produce more from the base growing point. Harvest gradually until the plant is about five to seven weeks old. Alternatively, harvest the entire plant in one go within five weeks.
- If it gets old, it can lose its nutritional value and characteristic taste.
