Grow fresh peppermint at home!

Peppermint is the MacGyver of the herb world, useful in everything from desserts to teas to soups to meat marinades and more.

The refreshing leaves of peppermint have soothing and cleansing properties. It is also an excellent source of manganese, copper and vitamin C.

- Initially, peppermint may appear to grow slowly. Once started, it will quickly produce many stems.
- Peppermint is ready for the first harvest about four to five weeks after planting. Gently trim the tops of the plant to encourage new growth.
- You only need one lamp arm to grow peppermint. If the stems touch the lamp, cut them back.
- As it grows, peppermint looks like a small ball. Don't be alarmed, this is completely normal!
- If some of the lower leaves get old and brown, feel free to cut the stem, new stems will soon grow.
- Got some leftover mint leaves? No need to worry, peppermint is excellent for drying and can also be used to make tea later. Just place the leaves on a paper towel to dry, then store in a jar.
