This work summarizes a collection of ceremonies and customs used among gypsies, which are related to divination, witch remedies, love potions and other witchcraft, based on anecdotes and examples that the readers are either not really familiar with or come from personal experiences. In these few years, since Ethnology and Archeology have been greatly inspired, and extended their powers through folklore, everything belongs to a subject which is studied with far greater interest, and even greater profit, than when feeble, half-believing, cultivated with a half-doubting spirit, which in reality was more a fable than a reason. We are determined to find the whole truth based on materialism, spiritualism, or their identity, and we stand in awe of the realm of wonder and mystery and poetry as it relates to what we uncertainly call ``magic''. we call it, which cannot be explained or removed, and which will become greater and greater as we advance in our studies, which is not only a cloud country, a great country, but the country of reality, where the man of science, who once only despised these, the thoughts become abandoned. Hypnotism has shown us far greater wonders than the magicians of old, or the hypnotists of the modern world, could ever ascertain. Memory, which, according to Plato, is the basis of thought, was once a definite quantity, but now this quantity has been practically extended to infinity (if that word is not too bold) by modern psychology, and its perfect development is identical with the intellect, and thus we openly see ourselves before the power to present things that were once considered miracles. It is no less obvious that scientists and practical inventors such as DARWIN, WALLACE, HUXLEY, TYNDALE, GALTON, JOULE, LOCKYER, and EDISON have all worked, or are working, with Theosophists, Spiritualists, Folklorists, and many other persons, not separately, but all of them are moving towards deciphering the Unknown.
