The Carvera Air 4-axis module with harmonic drive expands the capabilities of the MAKERA Carvera Air milling machine considerably. It makes it possible to machine cylindrical parts, workpieces that need work on two sides and complex 3D shapes. With all four axes operating simultaneously, realistic 3D models can be produced, and the material choice is wide open, from plastic and wood to metal.

Using the fourth axis allows far more complex shapes than the standard three-axis setup. Rotating components, details on both sides and intricate 3D models are all practical to produce. The harmonic drive offers very precise motion and minimal backlash, which matters for projects that demand high repeatability and fine detail.

The Makera CAM software simplifies 4-axis programming and converts 3D models into executable G-code. The module is also compatible with Fusion 360 and VCarve. The package includes the 4-axis module, two resin modelling plates for the 4th axis and two keys for the 4th-axis lathe chuck.
