Product description
Cape Chamomile - African chamomile essential oil
Eriocephalus punctulatus (member of the Asteraceae family) is a rare bushy shrub that grows up to one meter tall, native to the highlands of South Africa. The essential oil is distilled from the tiny buds and beautiful white flowers of the plant. Cape Chamomile is a distant relative of German and Roman chamomile. Among all the chamomile varieties, this variety has the most pleasant aroma, its scent is charming, honeyed, floral / fruity (apple-pear) with soft seasoning and herbaceous, earthy undertones. It is considered the fourth chamomile oil. It is used with preference in high-quality perfumes.
Cape Camomile essential oil contains significant amounts of azulene, which is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. The amount of this and the color of the essential oil (which varies from green to bluish) depends on the proportion of flowers used in the distillation, which in turn is affected by the harvest. The more flowers there are, the paler the color, but its anti-inflammatory properties are still strong. Due to its anti-inflammatory and soothing effect, it is used with preference in cosmetic products, relieves skin redness and reduces swelling. Extremely nourishing to the skin, it is used to treat dry, irritated areas such as eczema, rashes, insect bites, and burns. But it is useful for relieving menstrual cramps and hot flashes during menopause, but it is also used to cure pain associated with inflammation, muscle and joint pain associated with arthritis, neuralgia and back pain. It has an antihistamine effect.
Emotionally and energetically, Cape Chamomile essential oil is a great calming oil, excellent during the day when you need to promote balance and calm, and at night it relaxes the body and mind, aiding deep, restful sleep. In the past, its leaves were placed in pillows to encourage good dreams, and after a death in the house, they were scattered to disinfect the space. Thanks to its calming effect, it is excellent for situational anxiety and depression, and promotes a sense of well-being in all stages of life. Great for times of transition such as childhood, adolescence and menopause.
In spiritual practices, it is used to connect the crown and sacral chakras, as it energetically connects the lower chakras with the upper ones, providing a deeply relaxing effect for physical, soul and spirit healing.
