Drilling through reinforced concrete is difficult work and traditionally wears out hammer drills. Even 4-edged designs wear out quickly, resulting in downtime to replace accessories and procure supplies. The solid carbide head of the EXPERT SDS max-8X is an improved 4-edged design made from a single piece of the hardest metal: It does not jam or soften during hammering.

Thanks to Bosch Carbide Technology and the solid carbide head, the EXPERT SDS max-8X type lasts much longer than conventional hammer drills. It also effectively penetrates rebar, so there is no need to stop, re-aim, or change shafts when it hits steel.
