Borisz Paszternak - Zsivago doctor

This modern poetic work, based on the tradition of Tolstoy's great epic, deeply imbued with philosophy, is being published in Italy for the first time. Both in Italian and in Russian. He won the Nobel Prize in 1958. In his home country, the author is branded a slanderer of the Soviet system and a traitor. It was rehabilitated only in 1988, decades after his death. Doctor Zhivago is one of the most detailed historical tableaus of the twentieth century and the self-portrait of a - in Mayakovsky's words - a "fierce intellectual". From 1903, it follows the fate of its heroes for nearly three decades. A symbolic destiny, the life of the generation that found itself on the stage of the Soviet power after two revolutions. Pasteur does not qualify the political content of these processes, rather he focuses on the events, but he shades them as minutely as possible. Historical turns, family events, loves. Immeasurable sufferings and independent joys of the soul. A summative work, the main attraction of which is the character of Zsivago, who is stubborn, incorruptible, and has the spirit of Pasternak.
