Who would have thought that a bite of candy could change the life of a little mouse? Poor Fani takes just one bite of the mouth-watering, witch-shaped gingerbread and is already transformed into a baby-faced witch. In shame, he runs out into the world, falls from adventure to adventure, and finally ends up in the service of the lazy Cat Hercsula. Here, he stands his ground: he keeps the kandúr's house clean, helps the naughty rabbit cubs living nearby, even teaches the snarling iron-nosed midwife and how to play the Moor. He lives happily, yet he dreams that one day the spell will be broken and he will once again be who he used to be: a kind, pious little mouse.
