Product description
The decades that have passed since Cs. Szabó's death have made it timely to reconsider his place and role in literature. The author of the volume included several years of research work in a monograph: he pieced together the oeuvre that had been torn apart for historical reasons. He did not want his life's work to remain in the "cold shadow", as Cs. Szabó is one of the 20th century practitioners of intellectual prose in the Hungarian language, who, in addition to European culture, also believed in his Hungarianness in his works. This book it is not wax that reproduces Cs. Szabó's entire biography or work as an imprint, but rather a compass - as he himself was for emigration - that shows the main milestones of his life. CS. LÁSZLÓ SZABÓ (1905–1984) writer, literary critic; a member of the second generation of the West. He was the head of the Literary Department of the Hungarian Radio (1935-1944). From 1949 he lived as an emigrant in Italy, then from 1951 he worked in London as an internal staff member of the Hungarian department of the BBC. ARDAY GÉZA (1973) writer, historian, lives in Budapest; Author of 12 independent volumes. His previous works were published by L'Harmattan Publishing House: What was left out of the textbooks (2010), Childless writers during the dictatorship (2013), Portraits of the Hungarian Chapter of the Johannite Order (2014), Horizontmentés (2015), Yesterday is also not only tomorrow (2016 ).
