Scots pine is a pine species belonging to the beet pine genus, an evergreen tree with pointed needles. Its essential oil is sometimes obtained by steam distillation of needles, young branches and cones, but the best essential oil is extracted by dry distillation of pine needles.

Properties of Scots pine essential oil:

It has a fresh, camphorous, turpentine top note and dry, sweet, balsamic undertones. A medium-flowing oil ranging in color from translucent to yellowish.

- Suggested use:

- Put 4-5 drops of oil in an aroma lamp. Evaporated, it is one of the most popular oils for refreshing, deodorizing and disinfecting the air in the room.
- For skin care, add 4-5 drops of essential oil to 1 dl of vegetable oil or dissolved in water to wash off.
- Special information: Scots pine oil is non-toxic, non-irritating, non-sensitizing and phototoxic.
