Nature has created something very exciting in the case of vitamin B12. It is already a miracle that an extremely complex molecule built around a cobalt atom should become so important for many physiological functions (see above), but its amazing power is also impressive. Vitamin B-12 is water-soluble and must be supplemented daily in the form of food or nutritional supplements. This vitamin works best when taken together with vitamin C, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2) and magnesium.
Curiosity
The human body cannot produce it, or only to a very small extent. For example, the bacteria living in the colon (provided everything is in order with our intestinal flora) also produce vitamin B12, but this is an insignificant amount, and nutrients are no longer absorbed from the colon, so we can no longer utilize it.
B vitamins: Together or apart?
Individual B vitamins have specific, positive effects on health. But all nine types of B vitamins are members of a closely related family. If one of the B vitamins is taken in large quantities, it is a good idea to use a B-complex (or multivitamin) supplement along with it. If, for example, we feel that vitamin B1 is good for our mood, then we can safely take it, but we should also take a B-complex or multivitamin. This way, on the one hand, the cure will be even more effective, and on the other hand, we will not cause a shortage of another vitamin by disproportionately increasing the intake of one. Ingredients: rice flour; hydroxypropylmethylcellulose; Vitamin B12 preparation: methylcobalamin, hydroxocobalamin, 5’-deoxyadenosylcobalamin; silicon dioxide; magnesium salts of fatty acids.
