Viltrox has packed everything into this lens that can be expected from a modern lens today. Among the 15 lens elements arranged in 12 groups, we also find 4 ED and 3 aspherical elements for a clean and immaculate design. The lens elements are coated with HD Nano Multi-layer. The tube was provided with dustproof insulation in several places.

An aperture ring was designed for the tube, for which the designers assigned two ways of use. It can be adjusted with a switch on the tube so that the aperture ring can be adjusted completely silently, without resistance, to the great delight of videographers. However, photographers were also thought of, and by switching the switch, the aperture ring gently clicks into each aperture value.

There is also an AF/MF switch on the tube, so you can switch between the two focusing modes in seconds. There are also two Fn buttons on the lens, which can be used to program separate functions.

The Viltrox 16mm f1.8 FE is the first Viltrox lens with a color LCD display. Data such as the aperture value, focus range, focus mode (AF/MF), and the used programmable button (Fn1, Fn2) can be read from the display.

Despite the fact that this is an ultra-wide-angle lens, the designers managed to dream up and implement it in such a way that the front lens is not excessively convex, so that a filter can be placed, from which the 77mm size must be sought.
