Zukke® Vegan Protein is an unmixed vegetable protein preparation, made exclusively using Pisane® pea protein isolate, as pea protein has the best biological utilization value among vegetable proteins. (BV96).
Pea protein is an excellent protein source, rich in essential amino acids, and has an excellent amino acid composition (AAS=0.96). Only two out of nine essential amino acids are below the values ​​recommended by the FAO. This means that it contains 96% of the recommended daily intake of essential amino acids. Another special feature of pea protein is that it also contains a large amount of a semi-essential amino acid, this is arginine. This substance is also produced by the human body, but stress and physical exercise itself also reduce its formation, which is why external intake is important. Arginine increases the production of creatine phosphate, insulin and growth hormone, which, as a result, favors the growth of lean muscle mass and fat burning, and improves the ability to concentrate. Another positive physiological effect is that it is a precursor of nitric oxide, so it can increase the amount of oxygen delivered to the heart.
The arginine content of pea protein is 8.7g/100g, proven to be higher than the arginine content of soy and casein. Its protein content is 90% (refers to the raw material), while its digestibility is 98% (Pr Tomé (INRA Paris), 2002).
