Players personify Earth or Water (or, in the case of three players, even the Master Cartographer) in this game. Each player plays with 2 double-sided hexagonal tiles representing a combination of land and sea shapes. During their turn, players place tiles to collectively create a medieval map.

Basically, the Earth player tries to place tiles to build land areas, and the Water player tries to create sea areas. Closed areas will be worth points per tile, so land areas are for the Earth player and sea areas are for the Water player.

Some tiles also have bonus points that are awarded to the player who closes that area! Other tiles allow a player to play their second tile, or even to steal another player's tile.

The game ends as soon as the last tile is placed. The game is won by the player or team with the most points.
