Product description
The XV. s. The family novel set at the beginning covers two years of the life of the Gellei brothers. András, the eldest son, returns home from the king's army to get married. His brother, Lázár, falls in love with András's wife and swears to get her and everything that he thinks is rightfully his. As he works to destroy his brother, he jealously longs for their father's recognition and love, which he believes he must be without because of his brothers. The youngest son would like to become a monk, but his father and brothers oppose this, pushing him into deep despair. While the brothers fight with each other, the neighborhood is afraid of a witch who appears from time to time and stalks them. The mayor - with the support of András - tries to contain the terror with blinded hatred, but the events take an unexpected turn, putting faith, friendship and brotherly love to the test. During this time, the fate of the side characters of the plot, which runs on several threads and moves many characters, is intertwined with that of the protagonists, mutually exerting a dramatic influence on each other.
