REAL EFFECT SYSTEM
What makes MMA fights unique? The stakes, the techniques, the drama and the real struggle make them so. UFC 5 presents this sport in more lifelike detail than ever before. Next-generation graphics developments have made animations never seen before possible. The damage system faithfully reproduces the brutality of combat and strategic thinking. The new elements of the gameplay make the fights smoother and more realistic than before, and the novelties are not over yet.
Authentic injuries
Torn skin, bruises and swelling appear at and according to the location of the injury caused and received. There are over 64,000 different combinations of facial injuries that can be collected in the game. All injuries are displayed in the game in greater detail than before, which have a realistic effect on the characteristics of the characters. If you cut the skin near the opponent's eyebrow and blood seeps into his eye, he can't see properly and takes more damage on that side (since he can't see punches well). If you punch your opponent in the nose, it will be harder for them to breathe and their stamina will recover more slowly. If you get too many kicks to the calf, your character will start to limp and become less mobile. Authentic injuries add completely new strategic options to combat.
Medical checks and stops
Real injuries have real consequences. If a fighter suffers a serious injury (such as a broken nose or swollen eye), the referee can step in, stop the fight and call in a doctor to examine the injury. If the fighter cannot change tactics and protect the injured part from further blows, then the doctor can stop the fight (just like in the real Octagon). Players can make important strategic decisions in order to survive.
NEW HIT AND HIT REACTIONS
It's a game of hard hitting. UFC 5 features brand new animations to show elbows, spin attacks and many other punches, kicks, and strikes with knees and elbows. New punch animations recreate the style of boxers and professional kickboxers, giving you new opportunities to pummel the opponent to your heart's content. New hit reaction animations and physics make sure you really feel it when you land a clean punch.
ROLLING DOWNS
The new "rolling crushes" feature is a modified extension of the existing ground combat systems. Animations have become faster and mini-games have been removed. Beginners can ask for help with ground combat, and for veterans, this aspect has become more complex and enjoyable. The new creases allow for a smoother and more authentic ground fight, which will surely be enjoyed by those who love it.
THE FROSTBITE ENGINE
For the first time in the history of the franchise, EA SPORTS UFC is powered by the Frostbite™ engine, which makes console games more spectacular with unique graphics improvements. Through dynamic lighting, renewed character fidelity, and realistic hair and clothing animations, Frostbite faithfully reproduces the events taking place in the Octagon.
MOVIE-KNOCKOUT- REPLAY
One of the most significant and groundbreaking developments to introduce the world of UFC is the introduction of cinematic knockout replays. Harnessing the power of Frostbite, players can now relive their final and decisive punches and kicks with stunning visuals. Captured in slow motion using cinematic camera angles and lighting, match-deciding punches and kicks have never looked so authentic and good. As the blood splatters and the skin splits open with snail's pace, the brutal rashes become a true work of art.
THE SIMILARITY OF THE WARRIORS IS MORE STRONG
Thanks to the Frostbite engine, the quality of lighting and imaging has improved a lot. The shading of the skin and eyes has become multi-layered, the graphics system handles the hair by strands, we have reworked the body shapes of the fighters, and we are also at the forefront of animating facial expressions. Thanks to all of this, the fighters you know and love have never looked so much like their true selves.
SPECTACULAR ELEMENTS
This game is all about the effect you get. Thanks to the more realistic display, the impact of the blows received on the faces and bodies of the fighters will be visible in a realistic and chilling way. Plus, thanks to new physics systems that handle fluids and particles, blood and sweat drip and squirt just like a real fight in the Octagon.
AUTHENTIC FINISHES
The fight can end in many different ways and more authentically in UFC 5 than before. The draw is a new feature in offline and online play, and for added credibility, the referee can step in to save a downed fighter from the consequences of a too-hard ground fight.
NEW IN-GAME MOVIE-LIKE SCENES
Individual withdrawals, breathtaking knockouts — and everything else that happens in between.
