TTARTISAN 14mm f/2.8 Sony E objective black
Product description
The TTArtisan 14mm f/2.8 belongs to the "ultra wide" category, and with its 114° angle of view, it can open up dramatic perspectives even in tight spaces. The f/2.8 brightness allows it to remain usable even in low light, either indoors or under a starry sky.
The lens is fully manual, so all focus and aperture travel is done by hand - especially beneficial for film use, where fine, repeatable focus movements are worth their weight in gold. The focus ring is wide, runs smoothly, and can be adjusted easily, which can also be used conveniently in well-known follow-focus systems.
The image quality is surprisingly sharp in the center, with slight distortion and vignetting at the edges, especially at open apertures, which is common with most ultra-wide-angles. Around an aperture value of F/4–5.6, the pattern is evened out, the contrast and colors are natural, with a somewhat cinematic character.
The 77mm filter thread is a rarity in this category, as many ultra wide lenses cannot be fitted with a front filter. Here, however, yes — this is a huge advantage for ND filtering or long shutter speed landscapes. The metal tube of the lens is solid, well-made, the built-in sun visor protects the front lens and protects it from unwanted reflections.
The TTArtisan 14mm f/2.8 is a characterful, manual, and extremely affordable device for those who want to try the world of ultra-wide perspective without having to spend hundreds of thousands of HUF for a native glass.
