The Topping E30 II is a compact USB DAC with performance that belies its size. It uses a double number of two AKM AK4493S D/A chips, which are among the most popular components of digital High Fidelity, resulting in even higher quality in a parallel double configuration. The built-in XMOS XU208 unit provides a clear and stable connection to digital sources with USB output, while also offering full compatibility with Windows, MAC, iOS, LINUX and Android systems. The device has a 100-step volume control function, so it can be connected directly to an amplifier or an active speaker, but this function can also be turned off as needed. The E30 converter was also equipped with an elegant and easy-to-read display and a touch-sensitive control interface.

High quality conversion

The AK4493S 32-bit D/A chip used for digital/analog conversion is an upgraded version of the famous AK4490EQ with less distortion and better signal-to-noise ratio. It includes the popular Velvet Sound technology, which offers more accurate digital filters. You can choose from a total of 8 options for PCM and DSD formats, so you can tune the sound of the device to your individual needs.

The USB input is controlled by an XMOS interface, which allows support for high sampling rates up to 768 kHz, but also native DSD compatibility up to DSD512 in addition to DOP256. The integrated components result in high sound clarity and extremely low distortion of 0.0003% with -130dB crosstalk between channels, 121dB signal-to-noise ratio and 119dB true dynamic range. Such technical performance is usually only available from much more expensive and larger devices.

Unlike most compact D/A converters that use the problematic micro USB port, the Topping E30 has a full-size USB-B socket built into it, which gives it a big advantage over the competition in terms of reliability and durability. In version II, an improved power supply was developed in the device, which results in an even lower electrical noise level compared to its predecessor. As a new feature, the E30 II automatically turns off if it is not used for more than a minute.
