Product description
TOPPING D90 III DISCRETE
1-bit DAC
Topping's fully symmetrical desktop 1-bit DAC, made of discrete components. The D90 III Discrete, like the previous flagship D90 III SABER, is an iterative model of the D90SE.
A new exterior feature
The difference in appearance from the D90 III SABER is striking: the D90 III Discrete has a transparent window in place of the PSRM module, so users can directly see the PSRM module from above.
Brand new PSRM module
The D90 III Discrete includes 16-phase PSRM modules for the left and right channels.
The PSRM is a discrete 1-bit DAC (digital-to-analog converter). It uses an advanced architecture consisting of an ultra-fast switching logic array and a precision voltage reference, which is the core of the PSRM circuit. This configuration not only switches with amazing speed, but also preserves the integrity of the original signal. The components minimize any disruption to the power supply, ensuring excellent performance and reliability.
The design of the voltage reference power supply is also crucial to ensure the accuracy of the analog output. The digital logic switch switches at the nanosecond level with sharp rising and falling edges, which can generate disturbing noise. To solve this problem, a stable, noise-free, pure-resistive output power supply is designed, which allows each DAC component to achieve a highly accurate output. As a result, the original sound can be reproduced with amazing fidelity, reaching 130dB DNR and 131dB SNR.
Ultra-low jitter
Incredible jitter distribution using CPLD for clock processing, signal processing and digital signal optimization.
Based on the jitter test commonly used by current measurement websites, the D90 Ill Discrete delivers excellent performance with a low level of -157dB.
New I/V conversion
The brand new I/V conversion circuit is designed for high quality sound reproduction. The proprietary I-V circuit consists of low-distortion integrated operational amplifiers and ultra-low-noise discrete components carefully selected after extensive testing. This ensures that the voltage output of the PSRM remains intact, providing ample dynamics and an immersive audio experience.
Realistic reproduction
The D90 III Discrete has reached a new peak in music reproduction, THD+N < 0.00006%. All the sounds recorded at the recording location are reproduced perfectly, and every detail of the music comes through carefully. The D90 III Discrete makes you feel like you're sitting in the studio.
10-band precise PEQ adjustment
We've developed a brand new PEQ setting* that supports ten customizable frequency bands. Topping's brand new PEQ algorithm and desktop software allow you to fine-tune the frequency, gain and bandwidth of each PEQ band. The software supports importing target and original curves, as well as compensating curves with target curves. It can save multiple profiles for easy switching.
*The PEQ function is supported up to PCM 192kHz/32bit, and all digital input interfaces except IIS support this function.
LDAC codec
Equipped with QCC5125 chip, D90 III Discrete supports Bluetooth 5.1 wireless connection and can support up to 96kHz/24bit. It also fully supports LDAC/aptX-Adaptive/aptX/aptX HD/AAC/SBC and other audio encodings, allowing you to listen to high-quality music. A wireless music experience that goes beyond the CD level.
Plug and play
D90 Ill Discrete has wide compatibility and can be applied to various operating systems such as Windows 10, Windows 11, MAC, Linux and iOS/Android. The USB hardware is based on the third generation XMOS XU316 and Thesycon driver (for Windows*, other systems without driver). Stable and reliable.
In addition, the USB input supports PCM768kHz/32bit and DSD512, bringing every detail to life.
*Note: Only Windows ASIO applications need to install and configure the driver.
Freely switchable output mode
The D90 III Discrete has several universal RCA single-ended outputs and professional XLR balanced outputs. The output channels can be switched as needed, but both channels can be used simultaneously. Whether connecting two different systems or needing to use two audio signals at once, the D90 III Discrete provides a more convenient and efficient output method.
In addition to the more universal XLR 4V and RCA 2V outputs, the D90 Ill Discrete also has XLR 5V and RCA 2.5V outputs. Multiple devices can be adapted by selecting XLR 4V and RCA 2V. XLR 5V and RCA 2.5V provide extreme performance.
IIS - Ultra-high specification signal input interface
The IIS interface is not HDMI, but a customized digital audio interface that supports PCM 768kHz /3 2bit and DSD512 native. DAC for IIS
