The D5 Hybrid is the industry's first hybrid direct-attached disk enclosure. It can accommodate up to 2 SATA HDDs/SSDs and 3 M.2 2280 NVMe SSDs, thus combining the advantages of the huge capacity of HDDs and the high-speed performance of SSDs at the same time! Automatic backup
TPC Backupper is an extremely user-friendly Windows PC backup tool that allows you to schedule backups of folders and disk partitions on your Windows PC to TerraMaster USB devices or NAS network storage servers. to start an automatic backup, simply connect the device to your computer, install the TPC Backupper client, and set a scheduled backup task. this simple and reliable backup solution allows you to focus on your work, while in the background the TerraMaster D5 Hybrid concentrates on its work to protect your vital data. TPC Backupper supports incremental and differential backup strategies and is compatible with Windows 8/8.1/10/11.

10 Gbps transmission bandwidth
The D5 Hybrid uses the USB3.2 Gen2 protocol, which provides a high data transfer bandwidth of up to 10 Gbps. read speed up to 980MB/s using M.2 SSDs (SAMSUNG 980 NVMe M.2 SSD x 1), up to 960MB/s using SATA SSDs (WD Red 1 TB SSD x2, RAID 0), HDDs and using it, the actual read speed is still an impressive 521MB/s (WD Red 8TB NAS HDD x2, RAID 0).

Excellent compatibility
The D5 Hybrid features a USB Type-C interface that provides excellent compatibility with various protocols, including USB 3.0, USB 3.1, USB 3.2, USB4, Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4. A free 0.8 meter USB Type-C cable is included. The interface is compatible with Windows 7 and above, macOS X 10.6 and above, and Linux Ubuntu 16/18/20.

Compact size and large capacity
D5 Hybrid can accommodate up to 5 disks and supports many different disk types including 3.5" SATA HDD, 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD and M.2 2280 NVMe SSD. It supports up to 22TB HDD or up to 8TB NVMe M.2 SSD, so a storage capacity of up to 68TB is available in the compact, 2-compartment housing.

2+3 array mode
The D5 Hybrid uses TerraMaster's unique 2+3 array mode. With two SATA HDD/SSD, you can configure different array modes, such as RAID 0, RAID 1, JBOD, Single Disk, meeting the cold data storage needs of different applications. The three NVMe M.2 SSDs only support single-disk mode. For faster transfer speed, it is recommended to store frequently used hot data on NVMe M.2 SSDs.

Easier hard drive replacement
The D5 Hybrid is designed with a tool-less hard drive tray, so no tools are required when installing hard drives. the D5 Hybrid Halso features TerraMaster's unique Push-Lock design that automatically secures the hard drive when inserted to prevent it from coming loose or going offline. As a result, it is extremely convenient for users who often need to change hard drives due to data exchange, as it takes less than 10 seconds to install.

Easy installation of M.2 SSD
To facilitate the installation of M.2 SSDs, TerraMaster has designed a sliding side cover specifically for the D5 Hybrid case, which simply slides aside to install the M.2 SSDs. TerraMaster also provides hand-tightening screws, so the SSD can be easily installed in 5 seconds.

Smart hard disk sleep mode
D5 Hybrid supports hard drive sleep mode, so it can be synchronized with the computer system's own sleep mode. This effectively reduces the operating time of hard drives, minimizes power consumption, and extends the life of hard drives.
