TAMRON 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 (NIKON Z)
Product description
Second generation high brightness basic zoom lens.
The new 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 (model A063) is the successor to the popular and widely acclaimed 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD (model A036). The new lens was born as a result of continuous development and feedback from users, but kept the compact size of its predecessor. The renewed optical construction provides better imaging performance, so it is also compatible with the latest high-resolution camera frames.
TAMRON's VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) motor provides faster autofocus, and the 0.18-meter close point in the wide-angle position with a 1:2.7 aspect ratio enables close-up photography. TAMRON pioneered the development of high-brightness compact prime zooms for mirrorless cameras, and the new 28-75mm f/2.8 G2 is a true next-generation lens for everyday use.
The optical system was renewed from the ground up using the latest design procedures. In the optical construction consisting of 17 elements arranged in 15 groups, with two properly positioned LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements, image errors can be reduced to a minimum. Compared to the previous A036 model, image quality has been significantly improved at open aperture, providing extremely high resolution throughout the entire zoom range, across the entire image field, all the way to the corners. The lens provides a beautifully soft background blur characteristic only found on high-brightness models. The new 28-75mm f/2.8 G2 performs extremely well when paired with high-end, ultra-high-resolution digital cameras, but looks identical to its predecessor, the A036 model.
The A063 has a close point (minimum adjustable subject distance) of 0.18m at the wide-angle zoom position, which is better than its predecessor's 0.19m. The working distance is thus reduced to approximately 4.4 cm. Thanks to the maximum aspect ratio of 1:2.7, the photographer can get close to small subjects, while the wide-angle perspective provides a spectacular image effect.
