From Software is not moving away from the action-RPG genre with their new game Bloodborne either. The new world of the Japanese team known for the Souls series, Yarnham, is inspired by the Victorian era and the Gothic, giving the game a truly unique, dark atmosphere. According to the story, the town of Yarnham is rumored to be the source of a powerful medicine and is therefore the destination of many pilgrims and travelers. Instead, the game's protagonist finds people and monsters disfigured by disease, and finding the cure and solving the town's mystery will be secondary to survival. The gameplay of Bloodborne will be slightly different from the defense-based combat system of the Souls series, because the arsenal that fits the world, including firearms, will also help us have a much faster, more action-packed experience.
Thanks to the capabilities of the PlayStation 4, the From Software team can conjure up a truly terrifying visual world for Bloodborne, of which the lights – or lack thereof – are of course an integral part. Similar to the Souls games, in Bloodborne we will be able to communicate with other players through text messages. However, we have to be careful because it is also easy for a malicious user to leave us a misleading message. The game also includes a new game mode called Chalice Dungeon. In it, we can face our enemies in randomly generated underground mazes.
