Combining the quality and benefits of a full-frame sensor with an ultra-slim and portable design, the silver Sony alpha 7C offers the hybrid shooting capabilities, 24.2-megapixel Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor and intelligent AF performance you'd expect from an Alpha camera, but in a form factor that be portable all day, every day.

24.2MP Full-Frame BSI sensor and image processing
The back-illuminated 24.2-megapixel full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor works with the BIONZ X image processor to deliver high-resolution stills and video while minimizing noise and improving speed. This sensor structure works with a gap-free on-chip lens design and anti-reflective coating to improve light collection and enhance detail. In addition, the copper wire layer dramatically improves data transfer rates for 14-bit high-resolution stills at a native sensitivity range of ISO 100-51200, expandable to ISO 50-204800.

Fast continuous shooting and versatile recording
The combination of sensor and processor allows fast burst shooting at up to 10 fps at full resolution for approximately consecutive JPEGs or 115 consecutive raw files with full-time AF/AE when working with mechanical or electronic shutter. It also enables internal UHD 4K video recording, in a wide dynamic range, utilizing the full width of the full-frame sensor. The BIONZ X processor also cooperates with a high-speed front-end LSI to achieve faster processing times and is capable of capturing an impressive 15-stop dynamic range at low sensitivity values.

Fast hybrid autofocus
Covering most of the image area, the fast hybrid AF system includes 693 phase-detection points and 425 contrast-detection areas for fast and accurate focusing in various lighting conditions, with a sensitivity of -4 EV. Capture subjects quickly with Real-Time Tracking for AI-based tracking of moving subjects or Touch Tracking for manual subject selection. Suitable for both humans and animals, Real-time Eye AF also ensures critical sharpness when taking portraits.

UHD 4K video recording in XAVC S format
UHD 4K video can be captured internally at multiple frame rates, up to 30 fps, and 2.4x oversampling allows for greater detail and full pixel readout for better quality images with reduced moiré and aliasing. Full HD 1080p recording is also supported at up to 120 fps, and both 4K and UHD resolutions use the 100 Mb/s XAVC S format in an MP4 package with 4:2:0 8-bit sampling. High-speed 120 fps recording also allows for 4x and 5x slow-motion movies at 30p or 24p frame rates. In addition to high-resolution internal recording, the uncompressed HDMI output allows the use of an optional external recorder for clear 4K recording with 4:2:2 8-bit sampling.

S-Log3 and other color and gamma controls
The alpha 7C provides extensive customizable color and gamma control, allowing users to adjust gamma, black level, knee, color level and more: Use the same S-Log2 gamma curve found on Sony's high-end Cinema cameras, and which squeezes up to 1300% more dynamic range into the video signal than the traditional REC709, thus increasing the flexibility of post-production. HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) support enables recording within a wide color gamut to produce HDR-ready content directly from the camera. S-Log3 is also available to produce 15+ stops of dynamic range, with increased gradation control in the shadow and midtone regions of the image.

5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilizer
Despite its slender stature, the alpha 7C has a 5-stage, efficient 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization system that compensates for various types of camera shake that occur during handheld photography and video recording. This allows users to confidently use any lens, even adapted lenses, for critical imaging without experiencing blur due to camera shake. In the case of long focal lengths, the system corrects the correction of tilt and adjustment. Macro and high-magnification imaging, on the other hand, benefit from the inclusion of horizontal and vertical shift compensation. You can benefit from tilt compensation in all shooting styles. All 5 stabilization axes will always work, even when using with third-party lenses and adapters or lenses with built-in optical stabilization.
