SONOFF ZBMINI R2, also known as SONOFF ZBMini Extreme, is the NEW Zigbee version of the switch relay module of the popular Sonoff brand, which can also be installed in wall sockets.

This is a small-sized smart relay module communicating via the Zigbee 3.0 protocol, which can be installed in the assembly box behind the switches and connectors. It is a perfect choice for those who want to modernize their home lighting or make other home electrical devices switchable. With the help of this module, the circuits to be controlled can be integrated into a smart home system using the Zigbee 3.0 communication protocol.

The retrofit ZBMINI R2 module not only provides the possibility of remote control, but also equips traditional switches with smart functions after installation, thus offering both comfort and flexibility. Thanks to its compact design, it can be installed behind almost any type of switch, so replacing old, traditional switches is not necessarily necessary. A Zigbee gateway, bridge or coordinator is required for its operation.

ZBMini R2 is compatible with, among others:

- With the Sonoff Zigbee gateway: also with the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro and the NSPanel Pro, to one of which the ZBMini R2 can be connected using the usual factory eWeLink platform and eWeLink app to control the device.
- It is also compatible with the SmartWise Zigbee Bridge Pro gateway that also uses the eWeLink app, which also supports an Ethernet connection.
- Can be paired with the Sonoff Dongle Plus E Zigbee coordinator and other standard ZIgbee coordinators (e.g. Conbee II, Conbee III).
- Compatible with Sonoff iHost, which offers cloud-independent local control and Zigbee gateway functions,
- When used together with the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Ultra, it is compatible with smart home systems compatible with the Matter standard, including Apple HomeKit,
- It can be controlled with the SmartThings hub or, in the latter case, with the SmartThing APP available for iOS and Android. Controlled on/off, timed off/on and many other functions are available in the SmartThings app.
- Compatible with the Philips Hue central unit and
- Echo Plus 2nd, Echo 4th Gen and Echo Show 2nd gen. device as well.

Works with the Amazon Alexa platform (also with ZE39KL Echo Plus, Echo Studio, DW84JL 2nd Gen Echo Show & L9D29R 2nd Gen Echo Plus devices), can be paired with voice control using Alexa: "Alexa, find device".

The ZBMini R2 is therefore a 230V switching relay that is connected to the electrical network (phase and neutral) on the input side, and on the output side we can control a 230V consumer with it, close and interrupt the circuit. It can also be installed behind connectors and light switches (output max. 10A).

An external switch can also be connected to its switch input, so when placed behind wall switches, it can be switched from the wall switch (also with a push-button and 101 two-position switch), and of course the Zigbee app control and integration also works.

The switch relay can be controlled remotely using the SmartThings App running on an iOS (Apple) or Android mobile phone with an Internet connection (in the case of a SmartThings hub) or the eWeLink app connected to the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro.

Among the usual eWeLink functions, the current OFF/ON status, manual ON/OFF switching, and timings (timing, countdown timer, cycle control) are also available, but the pulse switching (Inching) function is not available.

The switch input (and the connected switches) can be disconnected from the relay output.
