Sonoff iHost Smart Home Hub is a local, local control smart home hub offered by the manufacturer of Sonoff devices compatible with eWeLink APP, not only for eWeLink products. Compatible not only with most Wi-Fi Sonoff, SmartWise and other eWeLink products, but also with Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 devices, Aqara Zigbee 3.0 devices and IKEA Zigbee bulbs.

SONOFF's local control center can fulfill the role of the cloud eWeLink platform locally, so home automation will be faster and more reliable. With this vision, the Sonoff iHost Smart Home Hub was born, which enables local control of devices and setting of smart controls (scenes) on a local control console via LAN. Local control is not limited to devices from Sonoff and SmartWise (and other eWeLink brands), iHost already supports Zigbee devices from manufacturers such as Aqara, Philips or Ikea already at launch. Sonoff also promises Matter support for the device until the end of 2023, which will expand the compatibility of the device even more significantly.

The tool is recommended for almost everyone who is looking for an entry-level ready-made solution, but with local control instead of the cloud one. The subsequent expandability of the solution also makes the hub very attractive, since if you don't like the basic system, Node-RED or Home Assistant support is also available.

The hub is also available in two versions (with a weaker / stronger processor and 2 GB / 4 GB memory).

Sonoff iHost hub hardware (4GB version)

In Sonoff's solution, a Rockchip RV1126 quad-core CPU works with 4GB of DDR4 RAM, for which we get 8GB of eMMC storage integrated on the motherboard. It is attached to the iHost motherboard as a Compute module, i.e. it can even be replaced later. The above storage space can be further expanded with a micro SD card of up to 256GB.

The small server operating from a USB-C power source also includes a USB 2.0 expansion port and a 10/100 Ethernet connector. But we also get a built-in microphone and speaker in the device, as well as 4 function buttons and an RGB LED status display. These are complemented by a Silicon Labs EFR32MG21 Zigbee SoC and a 2.4G Wi-Fi + BLE RTL8723 Wireless Module.

Integrations

iHost also supports the Open API and the installation of Add-ons.

With the help of the eWeLink add-on, we can also add previously paired devices to the cloud system (and certain eWeLink devices with a LAN function) to the local hub.

But an add-on is also available for Node-RED, Tasmota, TTS, Homebridge or HomeAssistant support. Weather service and TTS integration is also available.
