The Sonoff Mini R4M, also known as the Sonoff Mini Extreme R4 Matter version, is Sonoff's first Matter standard compatible device, which is of course still compatible with the eWeLink cloud and the Sonoff iHOST local hub, but can be connected via a Wi-Fi router to any Matter is also compatible with hubs, even in local use without an Internet connection. Like the Sonoff Mini R4, the small Mini R4M Wi-Fi module also has a potential-free switch input, so it is suitable for retrofitting after traditional wall switches. It can work with push switches and two-position switches and can be connected with alternative switching. (A potential-free motion sensor or other sensor can also be connected to its switch input.) The switch input - the first of the Sonoff relays - can be disconnected from the output by software, so the use of the wired wall switch connected to the module can also be disabled. However, you can set a smart control / scene on the switch disconnected from the output, so you can control other smart devices with it.

The Sonoff Mini R4M Matter version does not support the eWeLink-Remote protocol, i.e. it cannot be used together with wireless Sonoff Bluetooth switches and modules.

The module is significantly smaller than its predecessors: its size has been reduced by 40% compared to the Mini R2 and 60% compared to the Mini R3.

The Sonoff Mini R4M - like other Sonoff relays - is connected to the Sonoff / eWeLink cloud and can be accessed and controlled via the Internet via the eWeLink smartphone app for Android and iOS. Like other Sonoff smart relays, this one can be set for timed on/off, supports cycle control, and automatic switching off (inching), with which it can also be set to pulse switching mode, or it can be switched off after a specified time after switching on as a time relay.
