The Sonoff BASIC Gen5, or Basic R5 (BASIC-1GS), is a Wi-Fi-based, Matter-compatible smart switch relay module, whose single-channel control enables a load of up to 10A. It is basically designed for simple and fast remote control of household appliances, lighting or fans, whether using an app, scheduling or voice control.

Its outstanding features include support for the Matter standard, which enables the device to be seamlessly integrated into various smart home ecosystems (e.g. Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings), even directly without a hub. In addition to the push button with a large touch surface, the Magic Switch mode allows you to use the traditional switch on the wall in a smart way together with the product.

As a plug-and-play solution, it is easy to install: just plug it in and you can already control it via the eWeLink application. The supported Offline Near‑field control (via Bluetooth at a distance of up to 10m) ensures that it responds to commands even without an Internet connection.
