The SMSL G1 is the first external Master Clock from the manufacturer, bringing professional studio accuracy to home or audiophile systems. In the case of digital sound sources, every beat is based on the timing of the clock: if the time base is not stable, the audible signal is distorted, the sound stage is compressed, and the bass loses its clarity. The G1 aims to provide a single, accurate timeline for CD players, DACs and media players, so that the music signal arrives flawlessly from source to output stage.

Professional OCXO crystal oscillator

The G1 uses the latest SC-cut OCXO (Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator) technology. The phase noise is extremely low (-105 dBc/Hz at 1 Hz), which allows jitter to be almost completely eliminated. The frequency accuracy is ±3 ppb, which means that even after ten years of continuous operation, a deviation of only one second is observed. This precision ensures error-free synchronization of the time base of digital sound sources.

Temperature-stable, protected crystal

The OCXO crystal is protected by a special, constant-temperature cover, which filters out external heat sources and balances internal micro-temperature differences. This dual thermal stabilization solution guarantees that the crystal always operates in an optimal environment, providing maximum signal stability.

Multi-band, independent outputs

The G1 has four output channels, each with an independent buffer circuit. This provides stable output impedance and strong driving capability, so it can handle multiple digital devices at the same time, be it a CD player, DAC or headphone amplifier. The signals arrive without distortion and with precise timing at all outputs.

Compact, sophisticated design

The CNC-machined unibody housing from aluminum alloy gives a minimalist, yet precise appearance. Despite its size (131 x 104 x 45 mm), its internal OCXO oscillator provides nanosecond synchronization with extremely low jitter. The sleek, understated design of the device clearly represents technological functionality and audiophile aesthetics.

A single LED on the front panel indicates the status of operation: blue light for AC input, red light for DC. The device has anti-vibration suspension and four silicone feet to minimize tabletop vibrations.

Dual power supply and clean power supply

The G1 has both AC and DC input, making it suitable for global use. The device uses a toroidal transformer linear power supply with multi-stage voltage regulation and automatic switching circuitry to provide 6 µVrms of noise-free current to the OCXO and four independent LDOs. Continuous heat treatment and efficient heat dissipation of the CNC housing guarantee stable operation.
