SmartWise's 230V WiFi smart switch module can be placed behind a traditional light switch or used independently without a switch.

Like all other SmartWise devices, the SmartWise 230V smart electrical device with a maximum power of 10A is also compatible with the eWeLink mobile phone app that also controls Sonoff products. With the SmartWise module placed in the wall socket behind existing traditional switches, we can remotely control our lighting or other consumers while keeping our existing switches, as well as track their on/off status, so the product is also ideal for retrofitting. The SmartWise module is compatible with all traditional light switches due to its phase-only, zero-wireless operation!

We need to connect the wires connected to the two poles of the light switch, as well as the phase and switched phase wires to the SmartWise 230V relay module, and by installing the module behind the switch, we can still use our existing wall light switch to switch the lamp. Not only can we switch on the controlled light or other device remotely, but the eWeLink app also offers a number of timings.

The relay is only compatible with a two-position switch, not with a rocker (or bell) switch. It is not suitable for alternative switching.

On the other hand, the module can be set to pulse switching mode and timed automatic shutdown, and it can also be set to a default mode after a power failure.

The product also comes with a small capacitor module, which must be connected to the lamp, parallel to it, between the neutral and the phase wire, this ensures the functionality of the relay even when the lamp is switched off.

With the help of an App running on an iOS (Apple) or Android mobile phone with an Internet connection, you can remotely control the switch and set a timed on/off. The possibility of remote access from the App can also be shared with family members. Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control.

Although it does not have its own outer protective case, a transparent insulating cover protects it from high humidity, dust and the risk of short circuits.
