Sándor Sík, the former Piarist monk, provincial superior, poet and literary scholar was undeservedly condemned to oblivion in the second half of the 20th century. His intellectual heritage was largely cared for by Piarist schools and workshops.

In his poetry, he searched for new ways and forms of expression for a believer, but at the same time he preserved the Hungarian Christian lyrical tradition. The volume undertakes to rediscover this rich, diverse oeuvre, in which poems and divine poems belonging to the Christmas holiday are included in a bouquet.

The celebration of the birth of Jesus is an outstanding event of the Christian church and an important inspiration for Sándor Sík's poetry. He speaks passionately about the miracle of Christmas and paints the figure of Mary, who bends over the manger with a kiss, with breathtaking beauty.
In his divine poems, the poet's lines express the mystery of faith, the intangible and invisible God, felt only by our souls, whom we are constantly searching for, often for a lifetime, because the Creator himself encoded this insatiable desire in our souls.
