Gallimimus (meaning wing mimic) lived in the Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) area of the Nemegt Formation in Mongolia. It had a maximum length of about 6 meters and a weight of 440 kilograms, making it one of the largest ornithomimosaurs. Gallimimus was an ostrich-like animal with a small head, large eyes, long neck, short arms, long legs and long tail. The eyes were located on either side of the head, meaning that it did not have binocular vision. Like most birds today, its bones were hollow.
